This new five part course is indispensable in becoming more confident in a life or death situation involving a firearm. Taught by both very seasoned and competent instructors Tim and Shawn, the coursework was split between in-depth classroom time and active range time. Before I began this course I had only the basics of recreational handgun shooting, but upon completion I can safely say I am now on an entirely new level of gun safety, gun law, handling, accuracy and defensive mindset. Shawn, was instrumental in sharpening my firing technique leading to better shooting accuracy as well as increasing my operational safety. Tim was the standard for equipping me with the knowledge, realities and laws of surviving a violent encounter. Together, I am quite sure you will come away from this course with a competency that will help you avoid being a victim of a violent attack.

Excellent class for the beginner. Shawn teaches you the basics of selecting a holster and picking the correct one for your particular handgun. After some classroom training we headed out to the range to do some live fire shooting. Shawn took the time to do some individual work with each one of us. This is the perfect class if you are new to self defense with a handgun.

Excellent course for the new gun owner. I found the information in the course to be extremely helpful and Shawn presented it such a way that it made learning easy. He took the time to work individually with each of us in the class and on the range. This class should definitely be one that a new gun owner would consider. Shawn definitely goes the "extra mile" to help you get comfortable with your new gun.

Having taken the basic NRA class from Shawn I thought I would advance my training with the Basic Defensive Pistol class. There was both classroom training with "blue" guns and then our real guns, drawing from holsters. After getting familiar with the feel of the gun and the correct way to draw my gun, we headed out to the range. Shawn took the time to work with each one of us individually to make sure that we were doing everything correctly and safely. Can't wait to take the next class. With Shawn's help, I am getting more familiar and comfortable with my gun.

I am a brand new gun owner. I really needed to learn some gun safety rules in both handling and shooting a gun. This was an excellent course to attend and you do not need to be a NRA member. Shawn is very professional and the classes are small enough for some one-on-one training. I got both classroom and range training in the one class. The class is organized in such a manner that you have the time for all the training without cutting corners. If you are a newbie or someone who just needs to refreshen your skills, this is the class for you. Shawn is knowledgeable and the facilities are first rate.

If you are looking for a pistol self defense class - this is it.
This class is informative and thorough. Time and patience is taken for each student to properly learn how to draw from a holster in self-defense. Also, how to defend, fire, aim, and reload while in danger or threaten. Each student is given the attention needed to successfully learn.
