Every day I wake up to another tragedy in the world, shootings, bombings, vehicle massacres, beheadings—what’s it going to be today?
It’s gotten so bad I don’t even want to see it anymore, So I let my wife give me the highlights.
I am not a doomsday-prepper type but I do believe in preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, then dealing with whatever comes my way.
Many years back I decided to take steps to insure my survival and that of my loved ones—but not by buying a gun and putting it in the closet for that day. If I did that, I would not have a clue how to use it when the time came.
I’ve been around firearms and shooting my whole life, I can thank my father for that! I mean, I made the commitment to carry a gun every day, everywhere I go, and to train to be the very best I can be. I strive to be aware of my surroundings and the people present, so that I may possibly be able to prevent a tragedy rather than living with one.
In today’s world people like me are looked at by some as a “gun-toting outlaw,” ready to shoot-up the town at a drop of a hat. That’s the furthest thing from the truth!
I sincerely hope I never have to need my specialized training, or to even unholster my firearm, but if the day comes when I’m confronted with evil, I AM ready to take on that evil, to protect my family, my friends…and my country!
Oh yeah, did I say COUNTRY?
Yes I did! I’m a patriot, a trained Marine, and I will protect and defend my country “against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Our Forefathers crafted the Second amendment so we could do exactly that, yet today all we seem to hear is how “guns are bad,” and there needs to be more restrictions, at least this is what those voices want us to accept.
Look at Hitler, what’s the first thing he did? Hitler collected all the guns, and then—the evil started.
It’s been said that in WWII, the Japanese emperor wanted to invade the US but his general recommended against it saying that “behind every blade of grass would be a rifle.” Still to this day we’ve never been invaded, nor has anyone tried to invade our country. At least not from the outside. Today we have a domestic invasion, an attempt to take us down without a fight, without even a gunshot.
It’s up to you and I to look out for ourselves, and our families, no one else is going to do it.
It’s time to step up and be proactive. Time to stop sitting around and simply reacting to the bad things happening all around us.
